The TOSHIMA elevator was founded by Prof.Harimoto in Tokyo in the year of 1970.

Prof.Harimoto is the mechanical engineer graduated from Tokyo University in 1955 and jointed Toshiba Elevator business unit, after 14 years experience of elevator industry, he create the new conception of how to apply the modern technology to design the elevator parts to decrease the weight and to improve the efficiency of operation.

In the beginning, TOSHIMA elevator supplied only the small spare parts to most famous elevator companies in the worldwide.

In 1989, TOSHIMA elevator begin to manufacture the permanent motor and intelligent controller.

In 1995, TOSHIMA elevator start to manufacture the whole elevator service, and build the brand of PureTech for general vertical passenger elevator, CloudTech for high speed vertical passenger escalators and LegendTech for horizon passenger escalators.

In 2005, TOSHIMA elevator decide to suspend the Japan factory and only to focused on design, research and develop the high technology and high safety elevator systems.

In 2015, TOSHIMA elevator had succeed to test 18m/s vertical elevator in the testing tower, and become the 3rd elevator company who can have super high speed elevator in the world.

Prof. Harimoto spend whole life to improve the elevator trouble shooting and safety intelligent system for building management.
